Analytics are starting to play a much larger role in sports as a whole. Examples of this can be found everywhere, like in my last post with the Chicago Cubs. Another example of this can be seen with the Nebraska Huskers (yuck) football team. They were off to a great start at the beginning of the year, starting 6-0. They are now 9-2 (Woo-hoo for them losing at least a couple of games, but how about them Cowboys?) but at the time of this article, they were still 6-0. The ESPN article discusses how Nebraska is the only D1 college to employ an analytics team across all their programs, and it seems to be paying dividends.
